Family-friendly “On és quan ja no hi és” explores loss of a loved one

foto 2021 teatre AThe Formentera Department of Culture reports that the 14th Formentera Festival of Children’s Entertainment will conclude Sunday 2 May with a production of Tolo Ferrà’s On és quan ja no hi és. Ferrà, a Mallorca native, takes on a subject that is never easy, particularly for youngsters: the death of a loved one. Winner of a recent celebration of family-friendly coproductions, On és quan ja no hi és offers various ideas for talking to kids about what is often a sensitive subject.

On és quan ja no his és? portrays death from the viewpoint of a child, an adult and an elderly person — perspectives at once distinct and interconnected. The three theatrical languages alternately merge to present audiences with a surprising final result: visual theatre, object theatre and live-action cinema.

On és quan ja no hi és? is a family-friendly production and is recommended for children over 5. Sala de Cultura-Cinema, 6.00pm, Saturday 27 February. Advance reservations are required and can be made from Friday 23 April on www.entradesformentera.cat.

The event will be carried out in accordance with safety protocol and respecting current regulations. On és quan ja no hi és is part of a series of performing-arts productions that is backed by the Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics and the Ministry of Culture’s INAEM programme.
